As a Personal Trainer/Online Coach, so much of your business will be driven by the success of your Social Media channels. If you’re not already investing time and effort into your Socials then you’re likely leaving a lot of business on the table!

In this article, we’re going to share some of our top tips on improving your socials and using it to generate more business.

 

#1 Value > Vanity

Social Media is an incredibly powerful tool, and it’s entirely up to you to use it to serve your potential clients rather than your ego.

Some may think that showing your best lifts and constant #hustle will be enough to inspire others to work with you, however, the best way to get someone to invest in you as their coach is to invest in them first.

If you’re producing quality, value-filled content then those who are most interested in you and your service will feel subconsciously indebted to you and be far more inclined to jump at the opportunity of working with you.

Think about common problems your clients have/questions they ask and use that as the backbone for the content you produce.

 

#2 Wherever your audience goes, be there first

Creating a sense of real omnipresence is critical to really succeeding on Social Media.

If you follow the likes of Gary Vee, you’ll notice that you can’t open a single Social Media app on your phone without seeing new content from him within just a couple of scrolls of your thumb.

Of course, Gary has a huge team of full-time staff behind him to help manage the content he produces at the high volume he produces it at, however, you can achieve a very similar result with a bit of forward planning and a scheduling tool such as Buffer.

If you’re everywhere, you can’t be ignored or forgotten.

 

#3 There’s a Sea of Opportunity!

Just this weekend we heard Jamie Alderton speak on the My PT Hub Classroom stage at IFS 2019, and one of his most potent quotes was as follows: (paraphrased)

“There’s a see of opportunity out there for everyone, except some people take from it with a spoon and others take from it with buckets”

This stuck in my mind for two reasons. First of all, it really goes to show the mentality some people have towards investing time and effort into anything.

It can feel like quite a daunting task when trying to grow a business, build a social media following or, as Jamie’s metaphor suggests, empty the ocean. However, you can go about it in one of two ways. You can either be shy and nervous about it and never really make significant progress OR you can rock up with the biggest buckets you can find and go all in.

Secondly, no matter how many opportunities you seize, there’ll always be plenty more for everyone else, too. Don’t be timid!
