What is AI-generated check-in feedback?
AI-generated check-in feedback uses artificial intelligence to analyse clients' check-in submissions and provides personalised feedback automatically. AI reviews clients' progress, past check-in submissions, workout data, personal bests, nutrition logs, and habits to provide Trainers with helpful insights and encouragement for their clients, whilst maintaining the Trainer’s style of writing.
How do Trainers generate check-in feedback with AI?
Once a client completes their check-in, Trainers will see an option to generate AI feedback within a check-in instance on both web and mobile. Trainers can click the "Write with AI" button, and within moments, clients will receive personalised feedback based on their responses and progress data. Trainers can regenerate feedback on the same check-in if they would like a different response.
What information does the AI use to create client feedback?
The AI analyses multiple sources to provide comprehensive feedback to clients:
Client check-in answers - All their responses to the check-in questions
Previous check-ins - Their last 3 check-ins for context and progress comparison
Personal bests - Recent achievements and strength gains (if enabled)
Workout activity - Number of workouts completed compared to previous periods (if enabled)
Nutrition data - Consumed calories, macros (protein, carbs, fat), and logging consistency (if enabled)
Habits - Completion rates for tracked habits (if enabled)
Client-specific prompts - Any customer-specific context Trainers have added about their goals, circumstances, upcoming dates etc.
Trainers control which data sources are included through their main AI settings.
Does generating AI feedback replace personal feedback?
No. AI-generated feedback is designed to provide immediate, automated insights to keep clients engaged between interactions. Trainers can still review clients' check-ins and add their own personal feedback, which carries their professional expertise and knowledge of their complete training journey. This allows Trainers to scale their business while maintaining quality engagement with all clients.
Can Trainers leave audio feedback and use AI-generated feedback?
Yes. Audio & AI-generated feedback on the same instance is supported. It’s the same as audio feedback and non-AI-generated feedback.
How do Trainers customise the AI feedback for their clients?
Trainers have full control over several aspects of the AI feedback through their main AI settings page:
Tone and Style:
Tone (casual, balanced, or formal)
Motivation style (encouraging, balanced, or direct)
Emoji usage level (none, low, medium, or high)
Feedback length (short, balanced, or detailed)
Formatting preference (bullet points or paragraphs)
Data Points:
Personal bests, workouts, nutrition, habits
Custom Prompt (Trainer Level):
Custom prompts or instructions for the AI to follow

Custom Prompt (Client Level):
Personal context about the individual client's goals or circumstances

Can Trainers edit AI-generated feedback before sending it to clients?
Yes. Once feedback has been generated by AI, the trainer can change/add/update/remove any text they want before marking it as reviewed.
Can a Trainer add a generic prompt that applies to all check-ins?
Yes. In the Main AI settings page, Trainers can add a generic custom check-in prompt (up to 500 characters) that will be applied to all AI-generated feedback for their clients. This allows Trainers to include standing instructions like “Always emphasise consistency in feedback" or "Focus on celebrating small wins" that align with the trainer's coaching philosophy. This prompt works in conjunction with tone and style preferences to ensure that all AI feedback reflects the trainer's approach to feedback.
How do Trainers add custom prompts for an individual client?
Trainers can add customer-specific context (up to 500 characters) for each client through their AI settings. The 'Write with AI' button on the check-in instance is a split button with a custom prompt option, which stores unique prompts per client. This helps the AI understand their unique situation and provide more relevant feedback. Trainers might include information about:
Recent injuries or physical limitations
Specific goals or upcoming events
Preferences for certain types of feedback or focus areas
Life circumstances affecting their training
This context is stored against each client and is and applied automatically every time AI feedback is generated for their check-ins, ensuring the guidance remains relevant to their personal situation. It can be updated at any time via the custom prompt button.
How does the AI understand the client's progress over time?
The AI analyses the client's current check-in period compared to their previous period to identify trends and changes. It considers:
How their check-in responses and answers have evolved
Changes in workout frequency or volume
Shifts in nutrition patterns and consistency
Improvements/changes in habit completion rates
New personal best achievements
By comparing periods, the AI can recognise progress, identify potential concerns, and provide relevant encouragement or suggestions to keep clients motivated and on track.
Does AI look at historical check-ins?
Yes. AI reviews the last three check-ins submitted by a client (if they exist) to provide context and understand/learn from the trainer's communication style.

For the same check-in type (e.g., weekly check-ins)
Submitted before the current one
Limited to the 3 most recent
Is there a limit to how many times a Trainer can regenerate feedback on the same check-in?
Yes, there is a regeneration limit. Trainers can regenerate feedback with AI up to 25 times on the same instance within a 24-hour period. While there are usage protections in place to ensure fair system usage, Trainers can generally regenerate feedback as many times as needed within these limits. The system focuses on limiting the number of unique check-ins that receive AI feedback rather than restricting regenerations.
How does a Trainer cancel check-ins AI add-on?
Trainers have to manually request to cancel via support who can then cancel immediately or at period/commitment end.
What safety measures have we put in place to ensure correct and safe output from AI?
Check-Ins AI has been trained with baseline prompts so it only provides insight and feedback as a personal trainer, without overstepping boundaries. We have also implemented guardrails so that AI detects and blocks prompts/responses on harmful categories such as Hate, Insults, Sexual, Violence and Misconduct.
Is client data secure when using AI feedback?
Yes. Client data is processed securely and is only used to generate personalised feedback. The AI system follows the same privacy and security standards as the rest of the My PT Hub platform. Client information is never shared with other users or used for any purpose other than creating check-in feedback for clients.

With the check in AI you get 5 free generations, this shows as 0/5 depending on how many uses. Then it is an add on so extra cost.
